“CATH KORDER” CHAMPION

MANY BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS

A good display of about 80 blooms was entered in the Paeroa Horticultural Society’s rose show which was held in the Civic Hall, Paeroa, on Friday. All the flowers made an attractive exhibition, and some of them were of a very good quality. The champion ibloom, a “ Gath Korder,” was entered by Mrs M. D. Hansen, of Waitoa.

The Paeroa society’s display, together with an exhibition of the judge, Mr G. G. Callas, h rose grower of Hamilton, was worthy of the interest of all rose enthusiasts, and in fact all gardeners. The society intended to feature as far as was possible the varieties, correctly named, which would best suit local gardeners. A very nicely arranged exhibit was entered by Mrs H. V. Peart.

The results of the display were: — Champion bloom, Cath Korder, entered by Mrs M. D. Hansen; three roses, any colours, Mrs Hansen 1, Mrs H. V. Peart 2, Mrs A. S. Christian 2; one rose, red or pink, Mrs Hansen (the champion bloom) 1, Mrs J. L. Brown 2, Mrs Hansen 3; one rose, white or cream, Mrs Hansen 1, Mrs Christian 2, Mesdames Peart, and Hansen 3; one yellow rose, Mrs Hansen 1 and 2, Mr H. Wylde 3; best rose, any colour, Mr H. Wylde 1.
