LACK OF INTEREST
FARMERS & THEIR UNION
COMMENT BY MEMBER MUCH BEING DONE FOR THEM “ What is the Farmers' Union; What do they do? My opinion is that they have gone into recess’ These words or words similar to them are often flung at me,” stated the secretary, Mr J. E. Silcock, at the recent annual meeting of the Paeroa branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union “It is not the Farmers’ Union, but the members who say these things, who have gone into recess,” said Mr Bilcock. “All farmers, whether members or non-members, received immense benefits from direct results of the activities of the. Farmers’ Union. Any farmer who desires to be acquainted with the union’s activities and benefits secured for the industry, can get in touch with me and when-I enlighten him from information which I recently received from head office, he will most certainly look on his union with a new and much kindlier interest and will, in all probability, be present at the next meeting,” concluded Mr Silcock.
