WORK TO PROCEED
ACCESS FROM PUKE ROAD OHINEMURJ COUNTY DECISION A further communication in re. gard to the suggested road from Puke road to Coronation Street, Faeroe, to give access to the Paeroa railway station and saleyards came before the Ohinemuri County Council at its April meeting. The letter stated that the Hauraki Plains County Council were prepared to fall in with the suggested apportionment of the cost of construction of the proposed road. It was stipulated by the Plains County that the offer would not establish any liability on the council for maintenance and improvements after construction. On the motion of Crs. G. Avery and S. H. Thompson, it was decided to proceed with the proposed road, the council agreeing with the apportioned -cost. Work will be proceeded with as soon as exigencies permit. A committee comprising the chairman, Cr. T. A. Barrett, Cr. A. F. Thorp, the county engineer, Mr L. E. Shaw, and the county clerk, Mr A. A, Jenkinson, was appointed to negotiate with the property owners and then confer with the Paeroa Borough Council.
