OBITUARY
MR THOMAS F. THRUPP BROTHER RESIDES AT TURUA The death occurred suddenly on Wednesday, April 1.7, of Mt Thomas Frederick Thrupp, aged 49 years, of Ki'witahi district. 'Lately Mr Thrupp had .suffered with his heart but his demise was totally unexpected. The late Mr Thrupp was born in Paeroa 1 and “was a very young soldier to serve in World War 1. Upon his return he took up farming in Kiwit-ahi-Walton where he has residedsince. He was particularly well remembered: as a stalwart of the Walton Football Club in its hey day, with his brother’ “Aussie”, Joe Abraham, G. Woods and others. The blues fielded a' pack which for a club probably was unsurpassed in /Waikato. He made the grade to Matamiata representatives for years and also Waikato. He Was a hard player but always a gentleman. He was a keen member of the R.S.A. and was one of those who visited Australia for the great da'wn parade just prior to the World War 11. Thomas Thrupp was a son of Mr Thomas Thrupp who resided in this district and later at Morrinsville some years ago and predeceased his son- by just a few years. The late Mr Thrupp is survived by his wife and four children. He is also survived by four brothers, Messrs W. A. (Kiwitahi), C. (Auckland), G. (Hamilton), and J. Thrupp (Turua), and one sister Mrs Vandy (’Orini).
