CUTS INTO DRAIN
MUST BE FILLED IN ATTITUDE OF THE BOARD OBJECTION BY RATEPAYER Strong objection to the request that all cuts' from his property into the board’s drain be filled, the work to be carried out within 14 days or the board’s workmen would attend to it and the cost would be recovered 1 from him, was expressed by Mr M. Martinovich of Ngatea, in a letter to the April meeting of the Hauraki United Drainage Board. In a long letter to the board, Mr Martinovich explained his point of view and his objection to the board’s by-laws. He emphasised that the cuts , enabled him to better drain his farm. It was decided to insist that the bylaws be observed within 14 days.
