GOLF OPENS

GOOD DAY AT ROTOKOHU FIRST GAMES OF SEASON MIXED FOURSOME PLAYED There was a good ’attendance of members and visitors at the Rotokohu links when the Paeroa Golf Club officially opened their 1946 season.

The president, Mr J. H. Bartlett, dispensed with the customary speech and in a few well chosen words welcomed visitors and friends and hoped all would have an enjoyable afternoon. The links were then declared open, and the players started their games under ideal weather conditions ■ The club-house was tastefully decorated with flowers and the ladies provided a dainty afternoon tea.

A mixed 1 foursome was' played and the best score was returned by A. Davie and Mrs Craig with 46 —13'—33. Other scores were as follows: — "W. E. Tubman and Miss G. Gibb 40—4 —36; L. J.
