NORTHERN THAMES UNION ELECTION OF OFFICERS MR S. E. HALL HOLDS THE CHAIR The annual meeting of the Northern Thames sub-provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held in the Imperial Hotel, Thames, the chairman, Mr S. E. Hall presiding over a large -attendance of members from all parts' of the Thames Valley. Those present were: Messrs A. J. Campbell (Waihi), R. E. Tye (Ngatea), L. Tye (Kerepeehi), C. W. .Schultz (Ngatea), R. L. Wilson (Matatoki), A. J. Goudie (Colville), W. H. Cheale (Netherton), W. Buchanan (Mangartarata), G. Gray (Mangatarata), G. Clark (Mangatarata), R. W. CtoW (Netherton), P. H. Sutton (Hikutaia), G. A. Avery (Hikutaia), G. C. Donovan (Whenuakite-Coro-glen), E. Jamieson (Matatoki), A. Strong (Kerepeehi), D. A. Samson (Waihi), N. W. Hedges (Waitakaruau), H. M. Smeaton (Waihi), J. Ed-wards (Waihi), W. Hayes (Nethererton), R. Baker (Turua), F. Thorp (Paeroa), W. Flooks (Matatoki), S. H. Thompson (Waihi, C. G. Jackson (IPaeroa), and J. Silcock (Paeroa), Mesdames A. H. Blackmore (Waihi). and A. Strong (Kerepehi), representing the Women’s Division Farmers Union were also present. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. H. T. P. EVans (Waitakaruru), L. E. Hall (Waitakaruru), A. H. Blackmore (Waihi), J. Boyd (Waihi), C. Christensen (Waihi), and 0. P. Liddell (Hikuai).
The chairman reported on the work done during the past year which he described as a particularly busy one A resolution of appreciation of the work done by Mr Hall during the year was carrierd by acclamation. The election of officers then followed: —Messrs S. E. Hall and A. J. Campbell were nominated for the office of president, the voting resulting, Hall 23, Campbell 5 and' Mr Had was duly declared elected; delegates to Auckland conference: Messrs A. J. Campbell. S. E. Hall, H. C. Curtis, J. Silcock, R. Tye. W. H. Cheale, A. H. Blackmore. K. Hamilton, G. Grey, G. Donovan, R. L. Wilson, L. Tye, N. W. Hedges were nominated 1 , the ballot resulting in Messrs Curtis. Silcock. L. Tye Wilson. Campbell. Cheale and Blackmore being elected. Messrs Grey and Hamilton were elected substitutes; vice presidents: Messrs W. H. Cheale, A. J. Campbell, H. Curtis,
J. Silcock were nominated. Mr Campbell was elected on a ballot being taken.
