READING HELD IN PAEROA J. B. PRIESTLY’S “EDEN END” “Eden End,” • a play by J. B. .Priestly, was read recently .by the Paeroa Dramatic Club. The cast was as follows:—Stella ('Mrs H. Thorp), Lilian (Miss R. Smith), Dr. Kirby (Mr M. Thomas), Wilfred (Mr M. Lally), Charlie (Mr A. Kay), Geoffrey (Mr E. Kahn), Sarah (Mrs W. Barclay). In this reading the typical Priestly atmosphere was particularly well sustained, the idea of family life in the quiet English village being portrayed in a very convincing manner. The reading was produced by Mrs M. Thomas.
