Borough Council Meets The September meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council was held' in Borough Chambers on Thursday night, His Worship the Mayor, Mr Edwin Edwards, presiding. Others present were Messrs 'F. J. Johnston, A. O. HAllison, E. L. Shaw, J. M. Walmsley, R. P. Ganley, W. Chamberlain, C. C. Webb, H. M. Shand and the town clerk Mr R. S. Nicol. Borough Meeting Attended For the first time for many years, on Thursday night, a member of the general public attended the monthly meeting of the Paeroa Borough Council and sat throughout the meeting listening to the deliberations of councillors. Ohinemuri County Council At the September meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council held in the Coronation Chambers, Paeroa, there were present:—Crs. T. A. Barrett (chairman), F. L. Franklin, A. F. Thorp, E. L. Yearbury, J. J. Fitzgerald, S. H. Thompson, C. Christensen, R. W. Lowry, ;G. A. Avery, with the county clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson and the county engineer, Mr L. E. Shaw.. Bull Electrocuted A claim for 70 1 guineas compensation for the loss of a stud bull was lodged at Tuesday’s meeting of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board by Mr G. E. Conder, of Hinuera, as a result of the beast having been electrocuted by contact with one of the board’s installations. The value of the animal had been assessed by Mr P. R. Hawke for the board at 30 guineas, and the chairman, Mr J. Price, remarked that this was now a matter for the insurance company to investigate and adijiuist. Land Tax The Commissioner of Taxes draws the attention of taxpayers to the notification appearing in to-day’s issue that the due date of payment of Landtax for the current year is on Friday, September 2®, 194'5, and' that the demands will be posted on or about September 21.
