MAORI WOMAN CHARGED incident on the highway On a charge of behaving in disorderly manner on the Thames-Coroman-del highway on April 29, 'Mrs Whiti Williams and Hannah Makiri appeared before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Coromandel last Wednesday. Both pleaded guilty. Constable Patterson said the parties, were fighting on the main road'. It appeared that there was a feud l in the pa and this trouble was the outcome of some previous difference. Makiri followed Williams who turned' and struck her. . The case was adjourned for six months, the magistrate stating that it would depend how they behaved whether they got punished and that he could imprison them if they did not behave.
