WELCOME HOME
CPL. BILL FISHER HONOURED evening held at ngatea Mr and 1 Mrs D. Waugh entertained a large number of friends at their home in Ngatea recently, the occasion being the return from overseas on furlough, of Cpl. Bill Fisher. Several other returned men, all friends of the guest of honour, were also present. They included Hee. McLean, Alan Waite, Sandy 'Douglas, Harry Vowdes and Waka Williams. Mr M. Furey, who was in camp in New Zealand, was also pi’esent. The evening was spent merrily, with much singing l and dancing, music for both being provided by Mrs W. Williams, Mrs B. Miller, Mrs H. Darby and Mr D. Johnson. After a most enjoyable supper, Mr. McLean warmly welcomed Bill, the newest arrival, back from overseas. He said it had always been a known fact that when Bill came home the oldi crowd would be at Mr Dave Waugh’s to receive him.
Heartiest musical honours were accorded all those present, returned, and a vote of thanks to the host and hostess for such a grand evening.
