NEW SCHOOL

PROMISE TO COROMANDEL STATEMENT BY MR J. THORN During the course of his visit to Coromandel last week the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, was asked if he could do anything to forward the project of a new school for Coromandel which was badly needed. Mr Parry stated that it was not in his Department, but that he understood that the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, Minister of Education, had been to Coromandel and no doubt would be moving in the matter. Mr Thorn stated that the Hon. Mr Mason had already moved in this direction. There would be a new school—but not immediately, as all material and labour available outside Defence work was at present taken up in the earthquake damage areas. At the earliest opportunity a new school would definitely be provided in Coromandel. lllllllllllllllllll!i||||llllllllllllllllllllMllllllli:il!lllllllllllll!lllllllllllllllllllilllllllllllllllllllllllll!llllllllll
