LIEUTENANT M. N. MOORE DANCE AT COROMANDEL PATRIOTIC WORK APPRECIATED A social and dance was organised iby the Patriotic Committee at Coromandel on 'Friday last to welcome home Lieutenant M. N. Moore who has recently returned on sick leave from overseas. Mr Murphy welcomed the guest of the evening, also others who were present in uniform. Dr. Birkenshaw also spoke in the absence of the county chairman. Lieutenant Moore gave a most interesting talk, chiefly concerning the wonderful work of the National Patriotic Fund Board. ’He stressed the point that every effort was made to carry out this great “work, and it was a credit to the organisation that it was such a wonderful success.
It made all the difference to the lives of the soldiers both overseas and in New Zealand and was worthy of the very utmost publicity, of which it did not get nearly enough. He concluded by thanking the Coromandel Patriotic Committee for their endeavours in assisting this great organisation which was worthy of the very best the people of New Zealand could do to help. The music was supplied by Miss •C. McNeil. - Supper was served by a committee of ladies and dancing continued till the early hours.
