BATTLE OF LIPSTICKS
TRADE REFUSES COMPROMISE ONE QUALITY—TWO SHADES The 'Battle of Lipstick is flaring up. The Board of Trade wants lipsticks, powder and rouge sold in one quality and two shades only. Lipsticks would 'be either light or dark red; powder only Rachel (deep cream) and Natural (pale pink), rouge would follow the tones of the lipsticks. The Board of Trade says this will save labour and. ensure that all cosmetics are maintained at the highest quality. Manufacturers say it will not save the labour of a dozen girls in all Britain and will not save raw materials.
