Frostfish on Beach

Finds of frostfish on the foreshore of Waihi Beach at morning ebb-tide have been not uncommon during recent cold spells. On Monday morning Mrs R. White picked up five fine fish of lengths varying up to more than five feet and found another one yesterday morning. Frostfish are greatly prized by some people. Their flesh is very delicate and the flavour is something akin to that of flounder.
