LODGE DANCE

EVENING IN COROMANDEL TERRITORIALS ENTERTAINED A small but successful dance was held in St. George’s Hall, Coromandel, on Saturday, June 27, sponsored by the- Loyal Hauraki Lodge. The dance originally was intended as an evening in honour of Corporal M. A. Turner and other Territorials who were on leave. Corporal Turner, unfortunately, was down with influenza, but the dance took place just the same and several Territorials were present.

Popular music was supplied by

Mrs Lucas (piano), Master Lee Per- X feet (drums). Mrs' D. Stewart played an extra foxtrot.

A statue log cabin was won by Mrs Anderson and Miss J. Deeble >

and a • Monte Carlo waltz was won.

by Miss I. Barclay -and Mr W. Hamilton. The hicky door ticket prize was won by Mr H. Dbbbs.

The N.G’. of the lodge, Mrs Fisher, welcomed- the men in uniform and. hoped- they would spend, a happy time at the dance. She also thanked those present for attending the dance and helping to make it a success. Thanks were also due to those who had made donations in various ways. . ■

■Supper was served and enjoyed-by all. '

The National Anthem brought the dance to a close at midnight.
