SUCCESSFUL YEAR

OLD PUPILS’ ASSOCIATION

NGATEA DISTRICT HIGH

DONATION TO PATRIOTIC FUNDS

“It is my pleasure to report a very satisfactory year’s work notwithstanding the fact that the war has confined our activities to the holding of our annual ball as our only social function,” states the report presented by the president, Mrs L. E. Jackson, to the annual meeting of the Ngatea District High School Old Pupils’ Association. The report added: —

“All members serving overseas and in training camps were sent greeting cards from the association last Christmas and I am pleased to say that to date some replies have been received, the members expressing thanks and gratitude for our kind wishes. A cable of congratulation on his promotion was also sent to an old pupil, H. Laurence. “You will have gathered from the balance sheet an indication of the state of the association’s funds, the most pleasing fact being that the committee was able to hand over to the patriotic funds a sum of £l5 9s 9d, being nett proceeds from the annual ball.

“I thank the committee fpr , their help during the past year and trust that the same good spirit will continue and enable the association to carry on and grow stronger from year to year.
