MUNICIPAL SALEYARDS OPINION OF WAIHI COUNCIL “•The yards were never a paying proposition and the council of that time considered itself fortunate in being able to dispose of them,” stated, a letter received at Wednesday’s meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council from the Waihi Borough Council, in reply to a request for information on the question of . municipal saleyards. The Waihi yards had been sold some twelve years ago. More Information Information was also received from Cambridge and Te Awamutu. The yards belonging to the former were leased, and those of the second showed a substantial profit. The matter was left in the hands of the Abattoir Committee to go further into the matter.
