FAREWELL EVENING
GIFT FOR MRS DALBETH. To farewell Mrs C. Dalbeth who left Paeroa to-day for Akaroa, Mrs E. Edwards and Mrs M. 0. Parry were hostesses at a bridge evening at the former’s residence last evening. There were eight tables of bridge, the winners being Mrs W. P. Wylde. 1, and Mrs W. J. Matthews 2, while the consolation prize went to Mrs A. J. Young. On behalf of those present Mrs Edwards presented the guest of honour with a dainty bedroom clock. Mrs Dalbeth suitably replied. Others present were: Mrs W. Barclay, Mrs G. P. Lamb, Mrs J. Walmsley, Mrs J. Silcock, Mrs W. Stewart, Mrs G. B. Knyvett, Mrs P. Williams, Mrs T. H. Wright, Mrs H. Poland, Mrs W. Bain, Mrs J. Staunton, Mrs J. Mclnally, Mrs W. Fathers, Mrs A. F. Maude, Mrs J. A. Reid, Mrs F. Hubbard, Mrs G. Taiboys, Mrs J. R. Kidd, Mrs W. J. Forrest, Mrs T. Broadley, Mrs D. G. McMillan, Mrs W. J. Towers, Mrs D. Nisbett, Mrs E. Masters, Miss V. Menzies, Miss Clymo, Miss F. Walmsley, Miss C. Silcock. MUSIC PASSES. At the theory examinations conducted in June by the Trinity College of Music the following pupils of Mrs T. Broadley’s were successful: Preparatory division, Muriel Wright, 100, honours; Grace Hill, 89, honours.
