VALEDICTORY

The friends and members of the Hokitika Gulf Club met hist evening to bid farewell to Air H. Steel, who is leaving the district to take over the Royal Oak Hotel, at Carterton. Air G. H. Chapman (President of the Golf Club) made a presentation and sp-oke of the aborting spirit Air Steel always showed in any games on tho links; also mentioning that he was the second oldest member of tho club, and that he would be greatly missed. The President, on behalf of the club, wished Air Steel and family the. best of luck and good health in their new venture. Air H. AL Coulson, on behalf of Air Steel’s friends, also made a presentation and spoke at length of Air Steel’s long association with the club, also wishing thorn the best of luck and hoping to see them again in Hokitika to visit their old friends. Air H. Kortegast, tho Club Captain, also mentioned Air Steel’s good work in ron nection with the LA.A., and joined in with the previous speakers in wishing Air Steel and family the best of luck and good health. Air T. Stuart spoke, endorsing the remarks of previous speakers. Air Steel suitably replied, thanking all for their good wishes, and he hoped to see some of them up his way in the future.
