GERMAN MOVES
TO CRIPPLE ENGLAND
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)
LONDON; Dec. 8
Germany’s policy of trying' to knock out the R.A F. is apparently abandoned, says the aeron'iVutical correspondent of the “Sunday Times,” who-'now believes she is concentrating oii three methods to smash hv air, Britain’s ability to make war. Fiistly : a direct frontal .attack against British;industry an dporfis. 0 Secondly: A blockade by A.-strangß-hold of shipping approaching British ports, particularly from America.Thirdly: A diversion in tlie East. In a direct frontal attack,/ Germany is using about twelve hundred planes from bases in France and Holland. Three hundred Italian planes are operating from Belgium...':.;.';
These forces are only a' small proportion of the German air strength. The scale of German, night attacks may diminish, because of highly •successful R.A.F. raids on German factories, aerodromes and communications, "/he effect of which is greater than is genornllv realised. ! >
Ail attack against Egypt is likely. No reinforcements from Germany have arrived, in- North Africa, but ground preparations are going on.
