COMMENTS BY “CRITIC.”

'Several games in the Club competitions have been played and interest is becoming keen. A high standard of bowling was witnessed in a champion singles match. Benjamin v. Spiers. The scores were very even during the whole game and Benjamin won by a small margin. In a pairs game, the same evening the leads walked about the head endeavouring to find out the score, instead of using a measure. Several howls moved could have been declared ‘dead and the time wasted resulted in the game being finished in the dark. Several interested ones tried their hand at the game on Tuesday evening and it is hoped they "ill eventually join the club and enjoy themselves. Regular practice is necessary, especially for beginners.

One skip who has played for a number of years has puzzled bowlers by frequently dropping bowls on the mat before playing them. It may be to test the bowl but the depressions in the green make good bowling somewhat difficult.
