OBITUARY

The death took place at Westland Hospital last night at 10 o’clock of Mr Frederick William Bone, a well knowii resident, who for the past seventeen years had been stationed at Hokitika as gauger for tile Railway Department on the permanent way. A native of Christchurch, and in his sixtieth year, the late Mr Bone came forty ye*.n> ago to'the West Coast, and for,many years was stationed in the Ahaura district in the, Railway Department’s service. He wa s highly esteemed by all who knew him, ai(d general regret will be felt at his death. He had been ailing for the past fortnight. He leaves a wife and family of two daughters (Misses Jean and Edith of Hokitika) and three sons (Alexander and Richard of Hokitika, and William of Martori), also one brother (Mr George Bone of Christchurch), and one sister (Mrs Jordan of Christchurch). The funeral takes place tomorrow afternoon. [Per Press Association.—Copyright). TIMARU, April 28. Mr. F. E. Duncan, District Public Trustee at Timaru for 20 yearsj died yesterday, at the age of 56. Mr Duncan was appointed receiver of land revenue at Hokitika in 1913 and was transferred the following, year to Wellington. Air Duncan is survived by Mrs Duncan, a daughter and a son, Mr J. G. Duncan, of Temuka.
