ALEXANDER. The Alexander mine reort for the week ended April 20 is:— No. 6 rise; Has been Commenced in No. 2 crosscut, -the height above timber seven feet. The quartz looks well, showing free gold, width 24 inches. The reef has a great underlie and dipping to th e west. At present there is no indication of the reef becoming more vertical. Stoping: Has been in. operation on three faces. The first and third stope (north end) and the third stope (south end). Width of stone first stope (north end), 18 inches. Third stope (north end); two feet, with four feet in the back.. The stone south of winze has, bten 'split by a horse of mullock, width of stone three feet.

During the week, 30 tons of quartz were sent te the battery.
