BORING FOR, OIL.
(Per Press Association.—Copyright). GISBORNE, April 28. The New Zealand Petroleum Company reports that Totangi bore has reached a depth of 3855 ft. Progress during the past week has been slow, ■due to the character of the shale penetrated. CHARGE AGAINST McEAY. AUCKLAND, April 28. The criminal calendar for the session commencing on Tuesday next includes the Piha charges of arson, and also charges of interfering with a dead human body against Gordon Robert McKay, and James Arthur Talbot, which are set down for May 22. The trial is expected to occupy a Aveek. Otherwise the criminal calendar is someivhat lighter than usual.
