ARAHURA FAT STOCK Sale.. W. Jeffries and Co.® report that at ■the usual fortnightly sale held at Arahura on Monday, August Bth, there was ah entry of 83 head of fat cattle, all ; of which could be classed as first class beef. The quality was excellent and the large attendance of butchers who competed keenly to the last pen made the sale a very spirited one. Prime ox beei ■madfe ’from 37/6 to £2 per 100/anu m eases higher, while heifers sold from . 40/- to 41/-. Our entry of 45 head sold as follows:—For C. H. and L. R. Gibb, i bullocks at £ls/17/6/ 1 at £l4/2/6, 2 at £l3/17/6, 4 at £l3/12/6, 5 at £ls 7/6. 4; at £l3/2/6, 2 at £l2/7/6, 2 at £ll/17/6, (average for 22 bullocks £L3 9/1) ; 2 heifers at £l2/2/6, 5 at £ll 17/6, 3 at £ll/12/6, 2 at £lO/7/6 (aver-age-12 heifers at £ll/12/-); 2 cows at £ll/17/6, 2 at £ll/2/6, 1 at £9/17/6. For Mr Robbie JJibh, 2 bullocks at £l3 ! 2/6, i at:£l2/2/6, 3 heifers at £ll/2/6. Messrs. M. Houston and Co. report— At the usual fortnightly' sale yesterday there Twas. a total yarding of 85 bead of fat cattle, our entry consisting of 40 head, which were submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Practically tho whole of the yarding, comprised prime quality steers and heifers for which there was spirited competition, . the sale being a particularly gpod one. Heavy ox and heifer beef realised a little over 40/- per hundred, while medium weights sold up to 44/-. We sold as follows:—On account of J. G. Meharry, 2 bullocks at £l3/2/6, 2 at £l4/7/6, 4 a t . £l2/17/6, 2 at £l4 12/6, 3 at £l3/7/6; on account of Mrs 0.
