TANTALITE

Overseas interest in the taritaiite deposits in the Northern Territory, is emphasised by the report of the Japenese merchant, N. Uneda, who hopes to secure supplies of this rare metal for Japan’s armaments.. Already a. representative German industrial combine has .left Darwin lor the interior, in search, of - fresh tantatite deposits. \ . The Mines Department has received inquiries from countries throughout the world, including; France. Sweden and America. Although it is understood British firms are buying supplies from Western Australia, nearly all the Northern Territory tantalite is exported to foreigners.
