WHARFIES BRAWL
ON SYDNEY WATERFRONT. j aA A •gdi-.n H A ' StUl l 1 (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, May 17. Bitter feeling exists Tiere between the unregistered wharf labourers and the members of the Waterside Workers’ Federation. This culminated to-day in a fierce brawl, which extended to four of the city wharves. One man was sent to hospital, and at least ten others were slightly injured. Police inquiries indicate that there were about one hundred unionists and twenty-five unregistered men in the fray. The unregistered men, all of whom eventually escaped, claim, they wait in the background until all of the unionists have signed on before they offer themselves for work.
