The Italo-Ethiopian commission has been suspended indefinitely, and the commissioners are leaving Immediately after communicating their opinions to the Governments concerned. EARLY COMMENCEMENT OF WAR. PREVENTED BY RAINY SEASON. (Received this day at 11 a.m.) ROME, July 9. There is a desire in certain quarters to start operations before August 25 wlien the quarrel comes before the League, so that the League may be faced with f a “fait accompli,’’ but it is unlikely Italy will begin without a force of fully a quarter of a million, whereas at present she lias only 133,000 in the colonies. Until the end of the rainy season in September, an advance through almost trackless country would be extremely uifficult.
