GUEST OF MR ROOSEVELT. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON. July 9, ' Mr J. A. Lyons, Prime Minister ol Australia and bis party, arrived here to-day. They were welcomed at the railway station by the' United States Secretary of State, Senator Cordell Hull, and by the British Ambassador, Sir L. Lindsay. Mr Lynns and Mrs Lyons immediately .motored to White House, where they were welcomed bv President Roosevelt and Airs Roosevelt. It is expected that Mr Lyons will extend an invitation for an American Senatorial mission to visit Australia. He will also call on the Secretary of State, Senator Cordell .Hull, and it is understood that (matters . regarding Australian and American trade will i»«briefly discussed. This will he after he pays a visit to the British Embassy here, where he will meet journalists. Mr L yons will ho the guest at a luncheon at the Embassy. Afterwards he will go on a short sight-seeing tour of the city of Washington before leaving for Ottawa, late in the afternoon.
