Aeroplanes are circling over the city of Lahore, while British troops, and armoured, cars are patrolling the streets. . This action is owing to tension the city, which is .due to the demolition of a disused Mosque, one which the Sikhs have occupied for one hundred and seventy years. Infuriated, the Moslems then endeavoured to rush the Sikhs. The police charged and dispersed the attackers. Eleven were arrested. Two of the Sikhs were found murdered. .Other assaults are reported. Sir H. Emerson has imposed the curfew. Anyone committing either assault or arson is liable to be shot.
