SEVERE QUAKE

Although no material damage was caused, Rabaul was fairly severely shaken by an earthquake yesterday. Rumbling sounds similar to thunder preceded five severe shocks, each of which lasted several seconds, and were followed by sustained swaying movements. ITALY’S GIFT TO QUETTA FUND. ROME. July 7. Signor Mussolini, on behalf of the Government, has subscribed £IOOO to the Quetta fund.
