MACHINE HITS POWER LINE • . l -y - 1 - 1 _ .*•. (Per Press Association, Copyright). AUCKLAND, July 7. When practising, forced landings at Mange re Aerodrome, L. W. Swan, secretary of Auckland Aero Club, struck a power line near the aerodrome, and crashed. Swan, suffered facial injuries ami a. moth plane, of which he was tKe sole occupant, was fairly extensively damaged. The mishap occurred after Swan had beep ’ in the air about ten minutes. He was returning -to the aerodrome, and was in the vicinity of Pukaki Street, when liis plaue fouled the line. The fuselage was badly dahia'gedj and both, the bottom wings were broken. Swan, who is one of the most experienced pilots of the Club, was a passenger in the plane which, ou March 17, 193-1, avhen piloted by Ernest Boucher (President of the Auckland Aero Club), crashed on Mount Hawkins,; near the entrance to- 'Wellington harbour.
