! The teams appeared at first evenly matched, both sides passing the ball freely, treating the. spectators to one Of the finest games of basketball seen in Greyinouth for some years. Showing their best form 5 this season the Hokitika players proved too good for Greymouth and- the play of the Hokitika scorers was always superior. The Greyniouth passing was jneat and smart, but the ball seldom; went past the Hokitika defence. Ethel Orpwood (Hokitika) was the most outstanding player on the field. The. game ended: Hokitika. 14, Grevmouth 10. From the skill displayed by the Hokitika players .on Saturday it would appear that the selectors (Grqymouth), should have no difficulty in choosing the West Coast representative team to attend the N.Z. Basketball tournament at Wellington in August.
