In the Legislative Council yesterday, the Limitation of the Speed of Vehicles on Public Roads and Streets Bill was read the first time.
Th e debate on the second reading of the Religious Instruction in Schools Enabling Bill was continued, and again adjourned. In the House of Representatives, a motion to introduce the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill (Mr McCombs, L., Lyttelton) was defeated by 42 to 30. IMPREST SUPPLY. WELLINGTON, October 14. The House, of Representatives mer at 10.30 atm. Mr McCombs gave notice of intention to introduce the Industrial and Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Supply Bill.
An Imprest Supply Bill was introduced by Governor-General’s message and was accorded urgency.
The opportunity was taken by Labour members to discuss various aspects of the unemployment problem. The debate is proceeding.
