SERIOUS CHARGES
OF MISAPPROPRIATION.

ST. JOHNS, Feb. 18
A consultation between Premier Squires and the Governor, Sir John Middleton, will determine the form of inquiry to be instituted as the result of charges elaborated in the House Assembly to-day, bv Hon Peter Casliin, a former Minister of Finance and Customs, who has severed his- connection with the Government. He declared he was taking this action because the minutes of the Council had been falsified to facilitate the manipulation of public funds. Such moneys, he said, had been misappropriated. Cashin named Squires, Hon Doctor A. Campbell, and Walter S. Kanos, (Liberal; in nis charges.
