QUIETEST FOR DECADE,
HEAVY POLLING EXPECTED

LONDON, Feb. 16. There ha-s been heavy polling ill the Free State elections to-day. Twenty per cent, more of the electors ■voted in Dublin than voted there in the 1927 election, but it proved to be the quietest, most sober, and most good humoured election held for ten years. There were a few cases of tyre-
slashing. and several motors belonging to
[l.adv Beauclcrk who is an active (lovernment worker in 'ripperary, were disabled. 'lhe troops, who were last night dm Hed to various centres, were not required. The city voting results will be known to-rriorrow afternoon. The rural results will be known by Thursday. The completed results wil he available on Saturday.
