Evidence that any reduction pmposed by the Government in the expenditure on education will be strongly lesisted by primary school teachers is provided in a statement which has been issued by the executive of the New Zealand educational Institute. It is urged by them that Parliament has no mandate from the people to reduce the vote, hut that on the contrary then* had been a strong demand for increased expenditure.
