CHRISTCHURCH. June 5
Plans for a solo aeroplane llight from England to Australia, and back to England arc being made by Miss Aroha Clifford, the Christchurch lady pilot.
Miss Clifford is going home with her father, Mr \Y. L. Clifford, and is leaving New Zealand in. the Rangitane on July 19. On arrival she will endeavour to obtain a ground engineer’s ticket at some big aeroplane works in Britain.
She intends to do a good deal of flying, and "ill also fly on the Continent, thus preparing herself for her big adventure. Miss Clifford admits that slip still hits to obtain her father’s consent before she can main; the attempt. She is by far the most experienced woman pilot in New Zealand, having had 129 hours flying moiy than .Miss Amy Johnson had had 'before.- setting out.
