LONDON, Dec. 2
The confidence tricksters in London have established a record this j T ear. It is reliably estimated that thus far they have netted two hundred thousand pounds from their credulous victims, many of whom have been Australians. Scotland Yard officials say that most of the confidence men are now en route to various parts of the world, such as the Riviera, Madrid, Florida, and Sydney for leave and ease, and in quest of unsuspecting ‘‘pigeons. ’*
Only one woman is known to have fallen a victim to the tricksters. One well-known detective ,is of the opinion that prison is not good enough for the confidence men, and that they deserve a public testimonial.
