(From Our Own Correspondent). On Tuesday evening last the Tokaora School Committee, consisting of Messrs H. F. Wren (chairman). N. Wren (secretary), Laurent, Banks and Shearer, met and transacted considerable business appertaining to-school matters. A deputation from the local Farmers' Union, consisting of Mr H. E. Johnson, president, and Messrs G. Williams and Finlay junr., waited on the Committee. The president stated thb object of the interview was to come to some terms with the committee for use of the school buildings on certain evenings each month to hold socials, card parties.and dances in aid of the local branch's fund. The comniittee asked such, a high percentage in rent that at one time it looked as if negotiations would be broken off. Anyhow, the persuasive power of the local president prevailed, and favourable terms were arranged. Now huge stencilled placards are posted up announcing the first of a series of entertainments will take place on Friday, 25th^ and continue till the cows come in. ,
