; The weather is glorious for the opening ofs the Dunedin spring race meeting, and tlie going is good. Results:

Hurdles—Grange 1, Londonderry 2, Strathglass 3. All started. Won by a length and a quarter. Time, 3.20' 4-5.

Maungatua Handicap—Many Kittle 1, War Haven 2, Arcour 3. Scratched: Incursio. Won by two and a half lengths. Time,' 1.28; 2-5.
