QUARTERLY MEETING

i The Circuit quarterly meeting was held yesterday, the superintendent presiding. The membership of the circuit is 259, Sunday school scholars 360, Normanby total on roll 71, constituting a record; Hawera Boys' Club 22. Intimation was given that the British Sunday School Union had awarded Mr. E. Dixon, M.P. (the local Sunday school superintendent), a teachers' diploma, for 25 years' continuous service. The financial statement showed a credit balance of 2s 4d.

A Foreign Missionary Committee was appointed to organise the yearly effort, which closes, on August 31. A new missionary magazine, "Fields Afar,'' will be issued shortly. Mr. J. Foy was appointed agent for the fascinating history of New Zealand Methodism, entitled, "Centenary Sketches." Mr Haytoiv was thanked for his valued help in connection with the Oh awe beach services. A special rally of all Methodists in S the town is fixed, for Sunday, May 7. The Rev. E. O. Blamires will visit'the circuit shortly for a Sunday's services, and will deliver a travelogue on his recent tour round the world, at Hawera, Normanby, and Meremere. *
