CHINA
PLANS FOR UNIFICATION.
FEARS OF JAPAN
BY 'CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT CANTON, May 7. Interviewed, Sun Vat Sen declared that the first move after his inauguration as President of Canton will be to I seek foreign recognition. He is planning the unification of Oima on the \ principle of local •autonomy, under which military governments will be abolished and the army reduced to a minimum. He will restore China's position by denouncing Japan's twenty-one demands, which are' still the backbone of her policy. ' China's troubles for the last four years, he says, .are directly due to Japan's militarists, who aim to Koreaise China, and -./'America unknowingly aided Japan by recognising Hsu as head of the opposing Pekin Government, whom Japan put in office. He added: "We desire proper foreign aid in the form of a consortium, but money loaned to Pekin is harmful, for Pekin is powerless in the militarists 5 hands. The province of Kwangsi is mobilising 50,000 troops against Can*ton, but we hope to withstand,, the shock." v
