EXPRESS DELAYED
When the _ejg>ress train from New Plymouth was -abouTa. mile on the Hawera side of jSormanby this morning a piston rod of the engine smashed. This held the train up 'for some time while1 the gear was disconnected. Another engine was sent to bring the train on to Hawera. It was nearly an hour over time before the train finally got away from Hawcra. The disabled locomotive wall have to be taken to the Aramoho Workshops for repairs. There were a great number of passengers on tha express.
