CHRLSTCHURCH. Aug. 25. At to-day's meeting of the Board ot Governors of Canterbury College the' following motion was carried: "ThaT> immediate steps be taken to appoint a Piofessor of Education, and that the salary be fixed by the Board after the report is before th 9 Board- of the subcommittee which has the question of professors' salaries under consideration." A proposal that the salaries of all the professors in the sendee of the Board be £1000 per annum was referred to a special committee. '
