President Wilson has sent a message to Congress asking for the continuance of the passport laws for one year after the proclamation of peace, in ordfer to bar aliens. Senator Jones introduced a Bill withdrawing the UnitedSStatse s from the League of Nations within two years, unless the Powers agree to abolish conscription, and reserving to Congress the right to authorise the use of force in the event of a breach of the League covenant. - NEW YORK, Aug. 25. j Mr Joseph Folk, on behalf of the Egyptian extremists, assured the Senate Committee that the Versailles Treaty gave Britain such control of Egypt that the latter was rendered impotent to place its claims before the League of Nations. He declared that Britain had robbed. Egypt of her independence.
