MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE

At a recent meeting of the executive of the local Returneu Soldiers' .isaoci-tu-ion a report wa» received from the eub-'joujnintee set up to investigate tti? question of having a suitable headstone' erected over the graves of soldiers buried inlineHawera cemetery. After discussion the members of the sub-com-mittee were lr.structQd to convey to the Women's National Reserve and the Borough Council, the executive's appreciation of their intended action.

The secretary reported on the steps taken to secure a pension for the mother of a deceased soldier, and the meeting •decided to endorse the secretary's action.

The meeting also discussed several matters in committee of importance to retu-ned soldiers generally.
