AUCKLAND TRAMS HELD UP FOR
TWO HOURS

The tramway service was suspended for about two hours this afternoon while the Tramway Officers' Union waited on the general manager in connection with their grievances. It >s understood that no satisfactory agreement was reached, and a>meeting of the union will be held to consider the position. The trams resumed running after the business of the deputation had concluded. " CHRTSTCHURCH, May 21. The Tramway Employees' Union demands the. same conditions as agreed upon hy the Wellington tramwaymen in regard to work during the peace celebrations, threatening to stop, the service if these are not granted.
