ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE

A MAGNIFICENT FILM PRODUC-

TION

Kinemacolor, the window of th<? world, it is aptly termed. It deals with the artistic and spectacular happenings the world over. The camera men are sent out to all parts to get tihe subjects; they are not posed for the camera man at his door. Kinemacolor has always maintained its high standard of subject, that is why it maintains its popularity. The popularity of Kinemacolor has been proved. William Shephard has come over to personally supervise the showing of the fine double programme, John Bull's Empire and New Zealand's Wonderland. Special machines and special films are used to produce natural colors. In John Bull's Empire stirring scenes are shown of a most varied nature, and of world-wide interest. The color effects will prove a revelation. The series dealing with New Zealand's Wonderland are the Government official films, specially taken, "and are Bhown by special airrangement with the Government. There is much to amuse as well as to interest. The Sydney Daily Telegraph said of these pictures: "They fulfilled all that was claimed for them by the producers, and all that was expected by the crowded .theatre; the exhibition was a triumph of kinemacolor work." The Hawera .season will commence at the Opera House on Monday evening next for a two-night season and one matinee to be given at 3 o'clock on Tuesday. The box plan is now open at P. T. Donnelly's.

DRIVER, THE MAGICIAN

At tho Opera House on Thursday night Mr Driver will present his popular entertainment. Ever since he crossed swords with Bailey a few years ago, Driver has had the sympathy and support of the public, and has been greeted with packed houses in every town he has visited. Mr Driver is no stranger to Hawera, having first appeared here as far back as 1883. At that time he gave his entertainments under his original professional name ef Professor Robert Kudarz, and for many years he continued on the road, visiting many lands. Some six years ago he appeared in the Opera House, and gave a clever performance, and many residents will remember it. Mr Driver brings along this time quite a number of new tricks, as well as several entirely new mysteries to New Zealand.
